The ibex live on steep, inaccessible mountain sides in the high central Asian mountains and in southern Siberia. The hunting is in Alpine terrain 2,500 to 3,000m above sea level. Hunting ibex is both exciting, difficult and fascinating all at the same time.
This is a classical mountain hunt. The horses are used to transfer necessary equipment to the spike camps and during hunt also if terrain permits. Good physical conditions required as a lot of hunt is done on foot in the steep mountains. The base camp is located at the altitude of 5.900 feet. You hunt at 8.850-11.500 feet. The average shooting distance is 300-350 yards. It is advised to be ready for a long distance shot – sometimes up to 500-600 yards (depending on hunter’s skills).
