GENERAL INFORMATION
Hunting for roe deer take place in the incredibly beautiful landscape of eastern Kazakhstan, near the borders with Russia, Mongolia and China, in the districts of Dzungarian Alatau, the Ili Alataui national park and Ust-Kamenogorsk. It is very hilly/mountainous terrain with high mountains, forest clad slopes and valleys with fast flowing rivers and streams. The Tien Shan wapiti is the largest of the Asian wapitis, and it has a really impressive trophy. The antlers are massive, and very similar in shape to the North American wapiti.
This is a classical mountain hunt organized at the altitudes of 1500-3500 meters (6500-11500 feet). Horses are used for transportation around the area. Be prepared to spend several nights in the tented fly camps during the hunt (usually 2-4 days needed to bag a trophy). Average shooting distance – 50-350 meters/yards.
